What did it do? Hangleton Infants School has been working hard to turn itself around since failing its Ofsted inspection in 2000. Now the school is celebrating after being judged outstanding in a recent visit by the same inspector that criticised it 10 years ago.

A survey by the Department for Children, Schools and Families has found a high satisfaction rate among families that use children's centres. However, it revealed many weren't aware of the health services on offer. Children's centres should be an important vehicle for health services and there is plenty centres can do to ensure these are promoted to local health professionals and families.

What are they doing? Southwark Primary School is one of the first primary schools in the country to be rebuilt under the government's Primary Capital Programme. The new multi-million pound school is one of 23 primary schools to be built in pathfinder authorities. Pupils and staff are set to move into the new building this month.
